D3 — Isle of Fire: Southeast

Corak's Notes

In the years since the great Elemental War, Major Demons have settled on the southeast slope of the Isle of Fire, guarding a powerful Shrine of Protection. Their presence in this realm is sustained by evil symbols carved into the walls of their hut — destroy them and the Demons will vanish from the isle forever. The magically shielded town of Blistering Heights stands in the lava flats, accessible only to the most seasoned adventurers.

  • 1Blistering Heights — the only town on the Isle of Fire, magically shielded from the volcanic heat. Shops, an inn, and high-level hirelings.
  • M1Major Demon Lair — the hut housing the evil symbols that sustain the Demons in this realm. Destroying it permanently removes them from the area.
  • 2Combat — 2 Octobeasts + 1,000 gold + 2 L6 items.
  • 3Combat — 2 Octobeasts + 1,000 gold + 2 L6 items.
  • 4Combat — 2 Octobeasts + 1,000 gold + 2 L6 items.

Blistering Heights (point 1) is the sole town on the Isle of Fire and a necessary stop for any party needing rest, equipment, or powerful hirelings. Its location attracts visitors from the Demon Realm, who can be encountered within its corridors. The adjacent cavern holds valuable treasures and rare spells.

Near Blistering Heights you will find four resistance shrines granting temporary +60 bonuses to Fire, Cold, Electricity, and Poison resistance respectively. Visit them before venturing into the most dangerous areas.

The Major Demon Lair (M1) stands near the Shrine of Protection — a shrine that grants the entire party a temporary boost to all elemental resistances. The shrine will not function if the party already has an active elemental protection effect.
