Tomb of Terror
Corak's Notes
The Tomb of Terror in Phantom Peaks is the final resting place of ancient beasts known as the Shadow Dwellers. A curse falls upon any who disturb their eternal sleep. VonEmosh, master of the walking dead, rules from deep within. Anyone who would face the Vampire King must first fight through his entire undead army. Four enchanted thrones in the Mausoleum await the reckless — a deadly tangle of reward and punishment in one.
Monsters in the area: Ghosts, Ghouls, Liches, Mummies, Reapers, Skeletons, Vampires, Zombies · Boss: Vampire King (VonEmosh) Tomb of Terror is located in world map area F2 — Shadowmire. Entry requires the Black Terror Key from Cursed Cold Cavern (X2 Y24).

You need the Black Terror Key to enter. Collect it from Cursed Cold Cavern at X2 Y24. The tomb entrance is in area F2 — Shadowmire at X0 Y0.
The tomb is packed with undead of every kind. Liches attack magically and move fast (speed 80) — prioritise them in combat. Vampires have 400 HP and strike three times per round. The Vampire King (VonEmosh) has 1,000 HP and AC 36 — defeating him requires a well-equipped party, but without him you cannot open the final chest at X30 Y4 (point 8).
The two King's Ultimate Power Orbs (points 2 and 3) are at X12 Y2 and X12 Y6. They can be collected without confronting VonEmosh if you move carefully.
Hologram Sequencing Card 005 (point 4) is in a cursed chest at X18 Y2. In an undead dungeon, a "cursed chest" typically triggers a combat encounter or a status-curse effect on the opener — have the party fully healed before opening it.
The four thrones in the Mausoleum (point 5) are a trap for the unwary — and a reward for the truly exceptional. Only an Ultimate Adventurer may sit on them safely: the effect sets all statistics to 3. If your party has no Ultimate Adventurer, do not sit. If you do have one, the thrones grant +20 levels at the cost of base statistics that no longer matter at that stage of the game.
The spell altars (points 6 and 7) teach Divine Intervention (X22 Y10) and Sun Ray (X28 Y10) — one character can learn both at no cost.
