Castle Blackwind is sinking steadily into ruin. The spirit of Blackwind the Spellbinder still wanders its broken halls, held by a curse placed by Greywind — his former friend, united and divided by the same betrayal of Anathema. The fountain in the center of the throne room holds an incomparable gift: mastery of all known spells — at an astronomical price. Two thrones function only on day 60 of the year, the day of Blackwind's betrothal to Anathema.

Enemies: Dinosaurs, Mystic Clouds, Piranhas Castle Blackwind is in area D4 — Isles of Illusion: East (X6 Y8).

• 1Blackwind's Throne (southern alcove of the throne room) — his spirit sits here. Free him from his curse and he will share knowledge essential to finishing the game.
• 2Throne of the Sea Jewel — 6 Precious Pearls of Youth & Beauty (day 60 only; reward resets annually).
• 3Throne of the Golden Anvil — 6 L6 items (day 60 only; reward resets annually).
• 4Fountain of Anathema — teaches all spells to one chosen character; cost: 2,000,000 gold.

Castle Blackwind is the second half of the critical castle pair: the knowledge from Blackwind (location 1) completes what was learned from Greywind, and together they form the code needed to finish the game. Find Blackwind's throne in the southern alcove of the throne room — freeing his spirit is a story requirement, do not skip this step.

The two thrones (locations 2 and 3) function only on day 60 of the year, the day of Blackwind's betrothal to Anathema. The Throne of the Sea Jewel rewards 6 Precious Pearls of Youth & Beauty — exceptionally valuable items that restore and raise statistics. The Throne of the Golden Anvil gives 6 L6 items. Both thrones reset annually and can be revisited each year.

The Fountain of Anathema (location 4) is the only place in the game where a single character can learn every existing spell in one visit — for 2,000,000 gold. It is an extreme investment, but for a party with sufficient resources and the right class (Sorcerer or Cleric), it represents the greatest single leap in magical power available in the game.

The castle also holds several caches of 5 L5 items at X0 Y15, X15 Y6, and X15 Y15.
