E4 — Buzzard Bluff

Corak's Notes

The desert isle of Buzzard Bluff holds six magical wells with powers among the greatest in Terra, but the Barbarians who call this land home keep themselves in a state of battle-ready frenzy. Beneath the island's peaks lies Magic Cavern, where the source of all magic in Terra is said to concentrate. Destroy the Death Locust hut and the Barbarian camp to restore peace to the island.

  • 1Magic Cavern — a cavern deep beneath the peaks of Buzzard Bluff, believed to be the source of all magic in Terra. Contains many high-level spells.
  • M1Death Locust Lair — an abandoned hut on the eastern side overrun with Death Locust Larvae. Destroying it halts future generations of this infestation.
  • M2Barbarian Camp — the ramshackle gathering hall where Barbarians drink themselves into a fighting frenzy. Destroying it forces them to find a new base.
  • W1Teleport to A4 — a teleporting well that connects directly to area A4 (Thorn Blossom Orchard), built by the Brotherhood of Garroters for quick passage between the two islands.
  • 2Combat — 1 Vulture Roc + 2 L6 items.
  • 3Combat — 2 Vulture Rocs + 2 L6 items.
  • 4Combat — 1 Vulture Roc + 2 L6 items.
  • 5Combat — 3 Vulture Rocs + 2 L6 items.

Six magical wells are scattered across the island, each offering powerful temporary stat boosts for 10,000 gold. Seek them out before tackling the most difficult areas of the game.

The Well of Cures on the southern edge cures any condition except Eradication — invaluable if you lack access to a high-level cleric.

Magic Cavern (point 1) is one of the most important dungeons in the game, containing dozens of powerful spells including master-level arcane magic found nowhere else. Prepare for strong monsters and winding corridors.

The teleporting well (W1) connects Buzzard Bluff to area A4 (Thorn Blossom Orchard) — the same network once used by Gargoyles for swift passage between the islands. It is a fast route back to the western lands.
